Ogbomoso Parapo Washington D.C (USA) Get New Executives
At its recent meeting held at the
residence of Mr. Daniel Afolabi,
members of Ogbomoso Parapo,
Washington D.C. (OPDC) elected and
sworn in new executive officers for
the year 2006. Ogbomoso Parapo (OPDC)
is the leading and the oldest
Ogbomoso organization in U.S.A and
brings all sons daughters in the
Washington-Maryland metropolitan
area together. Ogbomoso Parapo,
Washington D.C. was formed in 1972.
The new executives of Ogbomoso
Parapo, Washington D.C. (OPDC) are:
- Mr. Daniel Afolabi
(Ile Oloya Oke Masifa) - President
- Deacon Abraham
Adigun (Ile Pakoyi – Oja Jagun)
- Mr Tunde Adigun (Ile
Pakoti – Oja Jagun)- General Secretary
- Mr. Joe Ajala (Ile Oluboyepe)
- Deacon Jacob Adeshiyan (Ile Elemoso, Saja)Secretary
- Mr. Adeyinka Bemidele (Ile Oniporin, Oke Agboin)- Auditor-General
- Mr. Adeyeme Adewuyi (Ajaawa, Ogbomoso South)& secretary
The swearing in ceremony which was
conducted by Mr. Adegboyega
Majolagbe (Ile Alapa, Oke Tara)
during a happy family get-together,
was watched by other members of
Ogbomoso Parapo, their families and
friends. Prayers
for God’s guidance for the new
executives were said by Dr. Emmanuel
Olarinde (Ile Ola-Elesade), the
first President of OSDNA (Ogbomoso
Sons and Daughters in North
America).
Among
members present at the meeting cum
ceremony were, Dr. Muhammed Badamas
(Ile Otukoko), the immediate past
president, Mr. Samson Dare (ile
Alapa), the immediate past Vice
President. Other members were Mr.
Thomas Ajao (IleAlake), Mr. Daniel
Adegbola Ajala (Ile Alokun, Kaa
Kanga), Mr. Olufemi A. Elemoso (Ile
Elemoso, Saja) and Mr. Timothy
Olusegun Afolabi (Ile Abolugbu,
Kolara), who was the immediate past
treasure of the major Yoruba
umbrella organization – Alliance of
Yoruba Organizations and clubs (AYOC)
in the U.S.A. Mr. tuned Adigun, is
serving his fourth year as the
General Secretary and for two years
combined the position with that of
the General Secretary of AYOC. Dr.
Akin Adeseun was unavoidably absent
due to other community engagements
and commitments in his locality.
